Review 1
This is a 5-star review for BAM (Basements and Masons of Des Moines).
My husband and I first worked with BAM 3 years ago when we were wanting help with our sump pump purchases, service and installation. We had problems finding plumbers with expertise in this area. That was a good experience, so we called BAM when we noticed large cracks in our foundation, breaks in one of our basement windows and small cracks in the other 3 windows. Jeremy, one of the company managers, came out to assess the situation. He returned to do a more extensive and detailed inspection of the block walls throughout the basement. To prevent possible future wall collapse he recommended steel reinforcement of the foundation walls.
Jeremy is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable in his work and can communicate what is needed and why. My husband’s business was in architecture, and neither of us would consider recommending any business other than BAM for this type of project, especially if Jeremy is managing and leading the team.
The structural foundation and window replacement projects are finished and we are more than happy and satisfied with the work! Jeremy’s team who did all of the work over a few days (Juan, Nick, Matt, CJ and others) were so capable, friendly, hard-working, and totally professional!
Review 2
BAM installed a basement egress window for me today, and the experience was great! Less than 6 hours start to finish, and that even included laying in some new cinderblocks. The crew was polite, easy going, and genuinely enjoyable to be around. Jeff, the field supervisor, was extremely helpful and professional. It could only have been better if it was free. It wasn’t, of course, but the price was very fair relative to the work they accomplished in such a short period. I will definitely keep them in mind for future projects!
Typical Costs
Crawl Space Cleaning: $500 ~ $4,000
This is for basic services like removing debris, old insulation, or minor mold.
Foundation and Structural Repairs: $2,500 ~ $8,000
This includes fixing things like a damaged support beam or re-leveling the foundation.
Waterproofing and Moisture Control: $1,500 ~ $5,000
This might involve installing a drainage system or a sump pump.
Crawl Space Encapsulation: $5,000 ~ $15,000+
This is a comprehensive solution that includes a vapor barrier, insulation, and often a dehumidifier. The cost can be on the higher end due to the materials and labor involved.
